About the Winery Innocent Bystander is an estate based wine grower and winemaker in the Yarra Valley, one hour east of Melbourne. First released in 2003, Innocent Bystander is forever expanding its horizons to craft wines reflecting the purest interpretation of style available. This means, where necessary, exploring different regions to find the highest quality fruit available for each wine they produce. About the Wine The Innocent Bystander philosophy is that great wine at its best is like a fingerprint – inextricably linking the personality, mood, and growing season of the land from which it has sprung. Pristine Pinot Noir, is grown on the steep, gravelly hillsides of the Yarra Valley and complements that of equally pure yet plummy, juicy Pinot Noir with perfumed aromatics that typify the Central Otago style. The 2018 Central Otago Pinot Noir has lively red and blue fruit aromas supported by savory, spicy undertones of clove, nutmeg and thyme. The palate delivers juicy blackberry and cherry flavors with earthy undertones. About the Winery What started as an homage to Stephan Asseo of L’Aventure Winery and his Bordeaux roots quickly became an obsession. Stretching wide across the Westside Hills of Paso Robles are clay soils amazingly similar to those found in Napa and Bordeaux. Today, these special sites are farmed meticulously by the farmers who have become My Favorite Neighbors. With their dedication to the land, the team at MFN are able to craft a world class wine without any shortcuts or compromises. 
About the Wine MFN 2018 displays a deep, velvety shade of purple/ruby. Exploding from the glass are classic Cabernet aromas of cassis, nutmeg and hints of cinnamon spice. Rounded and full bodied, this red fruit driven wine sings with silky smooth tannins, opulent and rich textures, and an impossibly long finish. This wine is for those that like soft, elegant Cabernets with no rough edges that are ready to drink immediately. Aged for 18 months in 70% new French oak. 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petite Sirah, 8% Petit Verdot, 2% Malbec, 2% Cabernet Franc, 2% Syrah.

Spring Buzz Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups water
1 bag Chamomile tea
2 teaspoons honey
2 ounces Blade and Bow Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
1/2 ounce Giffard Elderflower Liqueur
squeeze of lemon juice
edible flowers and lemon wedge, for garnish (optional) Directions: In a small saucepan, bring water to a boil. Steep tea for 5 minutes, then remove tea bag and stir in honey. Allow to cool completely. In a rocks glass over ice, stir in 1 ounce whiskey and 1/4 ounce liqueur. Pour in 2/3 cup tea and finish with a squeeze of lemon juice. Top with edible flowers and lemon wedge, if desired. Repeat with second glass. Cheers and Enjoy! * * * Snack of the Week:
