About the Winery Turley Wine Cellars was founded in Napa Valley by Larry Turley in 1993. Because Larry has never met an old vine vineyard he didn’t like, Turley now makes 34 separate wines from 38 different vineyards, some with vines that date back to the late 1800s. Often weak and decaying, these old vine vineyards require extra care and attention in order to restore them to their former glory. After twenty-five years as an emergency room physician, Larry can now focus his resuscitative skills on the various old vineyards that comprise the wines he loves. All of the vineyards are either certified organic by California Certified Organic Farmers or somewhere in the process, and only natural yeasts are used in the fermentations. By focusing on old vine Zinfandels and Petite Syrahs in particular, Turley aims to both create and preserve California’s unique winemaking culture. 
About the Wine Old Vines is composed of a variety of old sites from California that are either too small to be made into a vineyard designate wine, or are “new” to the Turley family (and way of farming). While we bring them up to speed as far as our rigorous farming practices go, in the mean time they make up the Old Vines blend. About the Winery Fulcrum is a winemaker’s winery, where no corners are ever cut. It is guided solely by David Rossi’s palate and a winemaking vision that has been developed over more than 20 years. From this vision, David produces a small portfolio of vineyard- and appellation-designated Fulcrum wines. At the heart of David’s vision for Fulcrum was the idea that more is not always better, and that a wine should offer a seamless combination of fruit expression, acid, tannin, alcohol, oak influence and age-worthiness. Since these wines are made in limited quantities, grapes from a handful of acclaimed sites in the Anderson Valley, Russian River Valley, Sonoma Coast, Carneros and Chalone appellations are all that is used. .jpg)
About the Wine After a meticulous harvest, the wine is aged for 21 months in 40% new French oak. When first poured, deep inky purple hues shine through the glass. A complex wine–upon first sip expect layers of deep black fruits and herbs. Lifted aromas of black cherry, cassis, black tea, and cedar dance throughout the glass and onto the palate. With a lush mouthfeel and well balanced tannins, this wine has an everlasting finish with lingering hints of oak. Only 82 cases were produced. * * * Gift Basket Availability:  (1).jpg)

The origins of Gianni Gagliardo date back to 1847, when the Colla family first began working vineyards in the Langhe zone of Piedmont. It was Paolo Colla, the fourth generation of the family who, in the 1960s, began bottling his own wine in the township of La Morra. Today, the sixth generation of the family; Gianni’s sons, Stefano, Alberto, and Paolo, are the guardians of the estate. Stefano, the first-born, a careful and competent oenologist, has taken charge of the style of the wines, which are characterized by a tireless search for elegance, balance, and harmony.
